Elliotte Schroeder
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a dancer. At the age of 3, I began dancing at a local studio with loose-fitting leather ballet flats and wispy hair that barely fit into a bun. Today, dance is my identity. Roles as a performer, choreographer, dance educator, advocate, and researcher have cultivated my artistic philosophy.
My work uses visual appeal to explore topics of identity, controversy, and vulnerability. Whether unraveling internal conflicts or challenging societal judgments, I aim to provoke profound resonance among both performers and audience members, while disrupting the rigid perspectives within the dance world.
My core values revolve around drive, diligence, and confidence. In every population I work with, I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse environment that nurtures creativity. In any venture, my overarching intention is to guide individuals towards the discovery of their authentic selves through movement.
